1 About the programme
The subject of this Public Call is the award of grants under the Innovation Programme to Promote Energy Efficiency in Industry to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) operating in the manufacturing sector (Section C), as defined in Annex 1 of the GBER Regulation, with the aim of encouraging the adoption of innovative solutions and new technologies that improve energy efficiency and increase the use of available renewable energy sources, thereby contributing to the further development of the green economy.
The primary objective of the Innovation Programme to Promote Energy Efficiency in Industry (hereinafter referred to as the Programme) is to improve energy efficiency and/or increase the use of available renewable energy sources by MSMEs in the manufacturing sector through the introduction of innovative technologies.
The specific objectives, or expected outcomes three years after the completion of the projects, are:
a) Improved business performance of MSMEs in the manufacturing sector through the introduction of digital solutions that contribute to more efficient energy management;
b) Enhanced energy management by MSMEs in the manufacturing sector; and
c) Strengthened staff capacities within MSMEs in the manufacturing sector in the areas of energy efficiency management and/or the use of renewable and clean energy sources.
The expected results immediately upon completion of the projects are:
a) Introduction of new digital solutions into the operations of MSMEs in the manufacturing sector that contribute to improved energy management;
b) Strengthened infrastructure of MSMEs in the manufacturing sector to improve energy efficiency or increase the use of renewable energy sources;
c) Improved specialised skills of employees in MSMEs related to energy management and energy consumption optimisation; and
d) Increased staff engagement in activities aimed at improving energy efficiency and/or the use of renewable and clean energy sources.
2 Eligible applicants
Eligible applicants under the Programme are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) whose principal business activity is registered in the manufacturing sector.
For the purposes of implementing this Programme, MSMEs are classified in accordance with the GBER Regulation as follows:

Applications must be submitted individually. Partnerships, consortiums, and any other form of collaborative application are not eligible under this Programme.
