Voucher for the Protection of Invention – 2024

I. SUBJECT OF THE PUBLIC CALL

The purpose of this Public Call is to encourage legal entities and individuals from Montenegro who, during 2024, obtained patent protection for their invention in Montenegro or abroad, or initiated the patent protection procedure before the European Patent Office (EPO) or the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

An invention eligible for patent protection may relate to either a product or a process, in accordance with Article 5 of the Patent Law (Official Gazette of Montenegro, Nos. 42/15, 2/17 and 146/21).

II. OBJECTIVES OF THE PUBLIC CALL

The objectives of this Public Call are to:

• enhance the competitiveness of legal entities in Montenegro through the protection of intellectual property rights in Montenegro and abroad; and
• encourage individuals engaged in innovation activities (inventors and innovators) to protect their inventions through patents, enabling them to proceed with further stages of invention development, including laboratory testing, prototype development, and other development activities that may lead to the commercialization of the invention and its introduction to domestic and international markets.
