Results of the voucher for the protection of invention and invention development programme 2024
The Public Call for the Voucher for the Protection of Invention and Invention Development Programme was launched on 29 May 2024 and remained open until the allocated funds were exhausted.
The programme was intended for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and individuals from Montenegro who, during 2024, obtained patent protection for an invention or were undergoing the international or European patent protection procedure before the European Patent Office (EPO) or the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
A total budget of EUR 20,000 was allocated under two voucher categories:
1. Voucher for patent protection in Montenegro
- National patent protection: up to EUR 200
- Invention development: up to EUR 2,000
2. Voucher for patent protection abroad (EPO/WIPO)
- EPO application: up to EUR 5,000
- WIPO application: up to EUR 3,000
- Invention development: up to EUR 5,000, subject to a positive outcome of the patent examination.
A total of 14 applications were submitted under the Public Call. Of these, 9 applications were positively evaluated, while 5 were rejected following the administrative compliance check. Through the reallocation of part of the funds from another programme line, the Fund was able to finance 7 positively evaluated applications, with a total budget of EUR 22,957.88. The remaining 2 positively evaluated applications could not be funded due to insufficient available resources.
