Within the ROBONETCBC project, a two-day event was held in Kotor on February 24 and 25, gathering project partners, representatives of institutions, and experts in the fields of environmental protection, robotics, and water monitoring.
On the first day, February 24, a Steering Committee meeting was held at the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Kotor, during which the project coordinator, Prof. Dr. Ante Šiljeg (University of Zadar), presented the project's results so far. After the presentation, the partners jointly discussed the next steps and planned upcoming activities aimed at the successful realization of project tasks. During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Snežana Šćepanović (Innovation Fund of Montenegro) presented to the partners the workshop "From Offer and Needs to Proof of Concept: Jointly Shaping the Future of Blue Technologies", which is jointly organized by the Interreg IPA ADRION project INNOVABLUE and ROBONETCBC, and which will be held in Podgorica on March 26. This joint INNOVABLUE–ROBONETCBC workshop is designed as a concrete step from the analysis of the current situation to concrete innovative solutions, with the aim of connecting scientific knowledge, technological capacities, and real user needs in the development of practical solutions in the field of blue technologies.
On the second day, February 25, the ROBONETCBC conference was held in Kotor, titled:
"Robotics and Sensors as the Basis for More Precise Monitoring and Prevention of Marine and Freshwater Pollution". The conference was an opportunity for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and good practices among experts and institutions active in the fields of environmental protection, science, and technology, with a special focus on the application of modern solutions for more efficient monitoring and pollution prevention. Through the presented topics and discussions, the importance of using robotics, sensor systems, and advanced approaches to data collection was further emphasized for the purpose of timely response, better resource management, and the protection of sensitive marine and freshwater ecosystems.
The two-day event in Kotor once again confirmed the importance of cross-border cooperation, connecting science and practice, as well as joint work on the development of innovative solutions for the conservation of the region's natural resources.
The Innovation Fund of Montenegro remains strongly committed to strengthening international cooperation as a key mechanism for the development of innovations in the field of the blue economy, by connecting partners, institutions, the research community, and local stakeholders in order to create sustainable, applicable, and socially relevant solutions for the environmental and developmental challenges of the region.
